Flyin' Eagles!
As I've mentioned before, I am a HUGE Club América fan, and it's been a while since my favorite soccer team has played well. It feels good that in the midst of my other teams being disappointments, my soccer team is smashin' like an Idaho potato.

Since tying then losing their first two games, América has gone 6 games without losing ( 5 Wins and 1 tie). Over the span of those 6 games, América's offense has exploded and has scored 19 goals. América is the leagues best offensive team with 21 total goals. The world's worst kept secret on América offensive success, is their precise counter-attack game. 13 of América's 21 goals this season have come through their counter-attack. With crisp and accurate passes from Pavel Pardo combined with the speed of Salvador Cabanas and Enrique Esqueda, América has thrived in breaking the offside trap of several teams.
With the addition of a true workhorse, Daniel Montenegro, América has gained both a distributer and a playmaker/finisher in the same player. In 6 starts, Montenegro, has scored 3 goals and has had 2 assists. Montenegro is a perfect piece to América' s puzzle, for he is one that can help with the scoring load (to help out Cabanas, with 7 goals). He can also help with ball handling and setting up scoring opportunities (to help out Pardo, with 4 assists).
América stands in second place in general league standings with 17 points (Toluca:18 points). Within their group standings, América is tied with Monterrey in a rather stacked Group 2. All teams except one (Jaguares), are within 3 points of each other (equivalent to 1 win). Standings go as followed:
1. America: 17 Points (+12 Goal Diff.)
2. Monterrey:17 Points (+8 Goal Diff.)
3. Pachuca:16 Points (+6 Goal Diff.)
4. Morelia: 16 Points (+6 Goal Diff.)
5. Puebla:14 Points (+3 Goal Diff.)
6. Jaguares: 8 Points (-5 Goal Diff.)
Its been nice to see América score all these goals.. 21 goals in 8 games is waaaay better that last season's disappointment of 25 goals in 17 games.. at this rate, América should score about 42 goals, which would be the same amount as Pachuca last year... that would be great.

Times Chaaaaange!
So, I've come upon a couple of older NFL fans over that past couple of months, and I would like to address something to them... Don't get mad, or hostile, at younger fans that are fans of a team that you hated when you grew up..
Examples:
My Co-worker, ( and for the sake of animosity, we'll call him "Kunk") Kunk, is a HUUUUUGE Pittsburgh Steelers fan. To give you guys perspective on how big a fan he is, and to show you I am not lying... This was him on the Thursday Night Football game vs the Tennessee Titans.

Kunk is a 37 year-old Vietnamese-American male from Salinas, CA.
Sooo, to the story... I came to join Kunk on his smoke break from work one day... you know just to shoot the shit, and talk a little sports. Kunk wears a Steelers hat almost every day, so I know that he's a Steelers fan beforehand, and I have nothing against him. I, in fact, kind of like the Steelers. Anyways, I sort of mention that I'm a Raiders fan, and talk about the upcoming Raider/Charger game. And the man goes OFF!
"I Fuckin' hate the Raiders! I try to bash them ANY chance I get! I love giving shit to all the Raider fans! FUCK YOU!"
Soo, I got the vibe that Kunk dislikes me a little bit more, now that he knows that I'm Raider fan... What kind of shit is that?? Just because the Raiders beat one of the best Steelers teams in the '76-'77 Playoffs? Just because we ruined their chance to repeat? Just because we won the Superbowl that year?? Kunk! I WASN'T THERE!!! I'm 18! If you have any beef with the Raiders, please make sure its from '91-2009. If I were a little bit older, I would have absolutely no problem.
Another Example:
I was in Las Vegas, staying in my friends house for about a week. My friend's mom, had a boyfriend named "Jay". Jay is a 35 year-oldish Philadelphia Eagles fan. I got dressed one morning in my some of my Raiders apparel and I entered the living room. I find Jay sitting down on the couch, he sees me, and he screams:
"Get the fuck outta hear maaaann!! Out of all friends, he had to have the Raider fan!! I've hated the Raiders almost ALL MY DAMNED LIFE! I'm GLAD its so dysfunctional down in Oakland, YOU DESERVE IT!!"
Uhhhh, I'm sorry Jay, for the Raiders breaking your little 7 year-old heart back in the '81 Superbowl? What the hell did I do to deserve such hostility?? I WASN'T THERE MAN!!!
I understand why you hate the Raiders, because I've been there with other teams, but just understand when you're talkin' to a younger fan of sports, we have NO personal vendettas over something that happened before we were born. I mean, If 20 years down the road, I meet a 18 year-old Tampa Bay Bucs fan, I'm not gonna get on their case that I fukin' hate him just because the Bucs beat Oakland in the 2003 Superbowl... which gets back to my point... HE WASN'T THERE!.. I would understand...
Since the NFL's popularity didn't really start rising 'till the 1970's, I think that I'm in that 3rd or so generation that really wasn't there. And since American football is still somewhat of a young tradition, The 1st and 2nd generation don't really understand the 3rd generation concept of non-existent vendettas against teams in the 1st and 2nd generation. We REALLY DON'T care what happen before we were born.

Fantasy Football Matchup: Week 1
So for this week's matchup in week 1, I will face my 24 year old brother.
My Bro's Line-up:
(QB) Jay Cutler
(RB) LaDainian Tomlinson
(RB) Chris Johnson
(WR)Calvin Johnson
(WR)Roddy White
(TE) Dallas Clark
(DEAaron Kampman
(LB)DaMarcus Ware
(LB)Kirk Morrison
(K) Sebastian Janikowski
Eagles Defense
Notable Bench Players: Frank Gore, Matt Ryan, Santonio Holmes.
Eme [Castro]'s Line-up:
(QB) Eli Manning
(RB) Michael Turner
(RB) Brian Westbrook
(WR) T.J. Houshmandzadeh
(WR) Wes Welker
(TE) Zach Miller
(DE) Terrel Suggs
(LB) D'Qwell Jackson
(LB) Ray Lewis
(K) Stephen Gostkowski
Raven's Defense
Notable Bench Players: Steve Slaton, Brandon Jacobs, Dwayne Bowe.
Why: Well I have Slaton facing the New York Jets, and Jacobs facing the Washington Redskins. whom of which were the 7th and 8th team in rush defense in 2008, respectively. I'm okay with starting Westbrook this week because he's up against the Carolina Panthers, the 20th best team in rush defense in 2008. And I dont have Dwayne Bowe playin' cuz he's up against the Ravens... 'nuff said.
I feel good about this week... can't wait for MNF.. the Raiders vs the Bolts!

Inaugural Post.
So being new to the large pool of the blog world, I would like to dip my toes in by tellin' you a little bit about myself...
I am an 18 year old college student that lives in California's beautiful Bay Area. The teams I am hopeful for every season are the Oakland Raiders, Los Angeles Dodgers, Golden State Warriors, Las Aguilas del America, San Jose Sharks, and of course the Mexican National Soccer Team.
Aaaaand the teams I love to give shit to every chance I get, are the AFC West teams(minus Oakland), San Fransisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, Sacramento Kings, Las Chivas de Guadalajara, Detroit Red Wings (not too often...but thanks to the Penguins for giving me a chance), aaaaand the American National Soccer Team (ESPECIALLY Landon Fuckin' Donovan). Oh and EVERYBODY hates the Dallas Cowgirls.
I love sports... Currently, I'm a collegiate discus thrower at Monterey Peninsula College, and I have played many sports in high school, including Football, Basketball, Tennis, and Track n' Field. I watch almost every damn sport that there is to watch... I've even watched a little bit of Curling in the midst of boredom.
I will have sporadic thoughts, and many many many rants through the process of this blog... I just don't understand why I hate so many things in something I truly truly love... AHHHH Sports.
Welcome to the New Era.
